500 delegates attended the 2nd national Culinary Conference at Le Royal Meridien, Chennai between October 3 rd to 5th 2005.
It was one of the largest ever gathering of culinary professionals in the country, a biannual event, attended by Executive Chefs, F& B Managers, Entrepreneurs, academicians and was addressed by an international panel of speakers drawn from across the continents.
The Indian federation of Culinary Association (IFCA) the nodal agency of the regional culinary associations of India and the country's sole representatives to the World Association of Cooks Societies (WACS) had organized this event with the purpose of bringing the latest culinary trends to the Indian fraternity, hone its organizational skills and eventually bid for the World Culinary Congress.
We were indeed fortunate to have Dr. Edwin Brown, Secretary General, WACS as the chief guest for the conference and we had a 50:50 mix of pure disciplinary and cross - disciplinary topics ranging from culinary tourism to wine tasting, standards and practices for the industry to food and wine journalism for culinary professionals. The event was a resounding success and met all our expectations
