The Press release on the new elected board of Indian Culinary Forum, New Delhi (The Northern chapter of IFCA) the new President is Chef Manisha Bhasin

Indian Culinary Forum is by more than a network of professionals, it aims to bring the culinary elite together in order to create and maintain bonds of friendship as well as encourage professional cooperation. Over the years, with the hard work of Chef Manjit S.Gill and Chef Devinder Kumar it has evolved into an organization to reckon with, an authority on food, a platform to exchange ideas and knowledge.

The new President, Chef Manisha Bhasin says “I am honored to be a part of ICF. Also we would like to see our lady chefs actively participate and WACS has already taken a step towards this aspect. There has been a sea change in the approach and outlook towards women colleagues and more and more women are venturing into this profession. However I assure you that we will carry the torch forward, with a strong belief that unless you know the history, you cannot shape the futures. Positive thoughts are not enough, there has to be positive feelings and most importantly positive action, and I am sure with everyone's support and commitment we will achieve greater heights.”

Chef Manjit Singh Gill President of IFCA added, “There is no doubt that ICF, which has pioneered the formal Chef’s Associations in India, will keep & maintain the tradition in high esteem and take the association forward.”

Undoubtedly ICF has an important role in the field of professional training, with its exchange of expertise and know-how; but it cannot be done alone, we will need the support of IFCA and regional bodies and of the food industry heavy
weights to take ICF further.

The new executive committee will definitely have ideas on what activities, causes and avenues need to be pursued, and collectively the team will strive for a change for the better. New ideas in the current market scenario will be implemented subtly and with due consideration for what has been achieved in the past and throughout the history of the ICF.

In the last few months there has been great turbulence in the world of finance which has affected hospitality as well. But we should not be too discouraged, companies would want to keep promoting their products, and there is no better place to get this return than through non-profit organisations like ICF and IFCA. We have a large number of chefs working for the cause nationwide, promoting the profession, participating in various activities, mentoring the juniors, the programs we have and the products we use.

Chef Soundararajan, General Secretary IFCA said, “We are very happy to have the new and young board at the helm of ICF, I am sure the new board will help to bring in new members and make the membership base stronger, effect networking of culinary professionals, organize events to improve skills and uninterrupted communication among the members.”
